A real low and short no-spin serve can give you some easy points in matches, as they are difficult to flip hard, and they require good timing to push hard. Mix it up with a heavy backspin in the same spot. Remember to get it short, the ball should bounce short on your side close to the net...

Comments:

Feels almost the same as 729. Generates slightly more spin, speed is comparable with classic 729. FX has that classic 729 feel, but the increased spin. HRS blue will keep the ball off the blade to increase the characteristics of any rubber; this sponge was designed for players who do not want to have blade effect while hitting or spinning the ball.

 729 Fx Blue Sponge Review:

After over a month of testing with 800-1100 players (4 blades, 3 players, 3 sheets) I can honestly say that this rubber is my favorite BH rubber from the 729 line of products.

It is amazingly stable for pushing and blocking, and good as most chinese rubbers for serve return. The sponge seems to have many, many gears unglued - and all of them seem very predictable.

I feel like this is a sleeper product in the line - USD$10 and it is incredible. I actually prefer it to my sriver 1.9 BH - it has increased the consistency of all three of the players who stuck with it - dramatically in (2) of those cases. And one of those players replaced >both< of his paddles backhand rubbers with it :)

I just wonder why this rubber doesn't get more credit here? It seems to offer all of the traditional advantages of chinese rubbers, and yet seems to have a softer sponge/topsheet than my standard 729 FX or even Cream/MRS.
