Table Tennis Tips

A real low and short no-spin serve can give you some easy points in matches, as they are difficult to flip hard, and they require good timing to push hard. Mix it up with a heavy backspin in the same spot. Remember to get it short, the ball should bounce short on your side close to the net...

For quick attack with loop drive. It accompanied many players to win the world championship. Suitable for both offence and defense.

Characteristics:

  • High speed inverted rubber
  • ITTF/USATT/CTTA approved

Ratings (out of 12):

  • Control: 11

Comments:

This rubber has stood the test of time, and is still used by many players all over the world. A classic rubber used by several former world championship players. It can produce good speed, good spin and very good control. It is probably favoured by the more defensive players for it's great control, but is suitable for offensive play and looping as well. Also well known for it's durability, when well looked after.

User Reviews (from internet/newsgroups):

"I always found pf4 a little slower and more control oriented than 729 fx.  I think the sponge is the same, but the topsheet seemed softer or something."

Comments: This rubber has been my favorite for 19 years. Produces spinny serves.

Name: Mardim

Country: Philippines

Comments: A good looping rubber with good spin and tackiness. Little speed and heavy compared to european or japanese rubbers. If you like defensive loops this one is for you

Rating: 7

A very hard and tacky rubber. Strength of rubber includes ability to attack - both quick attack and loops, as well as chopping - heaps of spin easily making it land on the end of the table and rubber can return loops by chopping balls easily due to tacky surface. HOwever, not a good rubber for blocking due to its hard surface - doesn't offer as much control as soft rubber. Ranking: 8

This should not be known as a defensive sheet, tis good for spin attack and blocking!!! When used on carbon bats plays very well and also has alot of spin!!! Too fast for chopping!!! Ranking: 7

Comments: Spinny, but very slow and heavy. Not worth the money. 729s with Jap. sponge are much better rubbers.

Name: Raja

Country: usa

Comments: The rubber is great for spinny returns. Lots of good spin and great fo rplayers who like to flat return as against loop or drive, If used correctly, this is a very good rubber at a low price. dont expect to be able to attack hard with this one.

Comments: No speed at all. You crush the ball but it doesn't travel like you wish. H3 is much different and better.

Comments: Good spin but it lacks speed. Trying to drill a few smashes is like pulling your arm out of the socket, again, and again.

Comments: It's very spinny when new and therefore great for serves. It also has great control. However, it's not very powerful, especially when compared to DHS H3.
