Butterfly BalsaCarbo X5
|
The
BalsaCarbo X5 is the first Balsa blade to be made by Butterfly. The X5
features light weight and great touch, produced by the Balsa center
core. Its two Carbon Layers ensure that there is always more than enough
point-winning power. Unique to the X5 is its soft feel, which makes over
the table play, especially blocking, effortless and very effective.
While designed for close to the table attacking play, the X5 has enough
power to execute strong topspins from mid-distance as well. Balsa blades
are growing increasing popular worldwide and one rally with the
BalsaCarbo X5 will show you why!

BalsaCarbo X5 blade review (collected from internet): |
I love this blade. I used to play with Primorac Carbon with
Bryce on both sides. Now I play with BalsaCarbo with Bryce Speed on both
sides. Speed is incredible and with this blade the control is very good
too. It is soft so it holds the ball much longer. The combination with
Bryce Speed it is a very interesting combination: Fast and controlable.
Bryce Speed might be just a little too much though. I think I'll leave
Bryce Speed on my backhand and Yasaka Mark V on my forehand for more
spin and even more control. This blade is also very light, compared to
my Primorac Carbon. The only negative side to this blade is that it
sometimes vibrates when you hit really, really hard. But I would still
definitely by it again.... Buy it, try it, you'll love it. Review by

Have had it only for a couple of weeks, previously used a nittaku violin
blade, there is a difference in the feel between the blades , the X5 you
can feel the ball more on the blade which for me being more a defensive
player is great, that means more control and it does have the power for
when I need to attack. It did take a little while to get used to it but
now it is everything you could want in a blade. Review by fish
Comments: I really like this blade. It does what it says
on the tin i.e. allows both gentle touch shots and very fast attacking
shots at short to middle range. It is great for fast blocking, and
pushes stay nicely low. With Magna it gives a really good balance of
speed, spin and control. What I particularly like about it is that I can
loop and flat hit really well with it. With other blades I have tried, I
always felt that I was compromising somewhere. It might be worth noting
that when I tried it with Joola green power and Joola Energy Xtra and it
felt way out of control - especially when I was at the other end of a
good attack. The blade feels very balanced, and I really like the
slightly square handle (others might not). I have played with it for
about a month with Magna and it has improved my game almost instantly.

Comments: I've got 4 Balsa Carbo X5's, my favorite is set up with Bryce
speed fx(fh), and Solicion(bh). Offers great all around feel and
feedback. Michael Malloy
Comments: Fantastic blade. Nice feeling. Good sound. Satisfactory
performance when hitting the ball in terms of vibration. It is soft
enough to feel the contact of the ball and provide good control when
blocking. And still you can obtain good speed characteristics. Specially
interesting for looping near the table or at mid-distance. For long
distance you may need a different blade. juan mendez
Comments: Clearly 10/10. Amazing blade. Excellent
short drop shot capability on serve return. Great power when looping
hard. Easy to make soft loops also. Excellent blocks. Can you actually
ask for anything better possibly? It's easy to serve short with this
blade as well. I am not sure anything I can say do justice for this
incredible blade. HSS
Comments: Amazing blade. The best blade for Me that
I've been using so far. I always think that the best bty blades are
always to be the Ary-Carb Series with all in relatively high-prices. I
borrowed VSG 1000 from My brother and really disappointed with the woods
quality. But this blade is just different. Offers much better feedback
and balance , very controlable. Decent speed too. Perfect for all-round
attacking player but It lacks power when you play far from the table but
still enough in mid distance. All-Rounder
Comments: Great blade with good speed and control.
Previous bat was a stiga premade and this butterfly is so much better,
more power and more control. Have Sriver EL 2.1 on both sides and it's
good for both driving and looping. Cheap considering it has 2 layers of
carbon and a balsa core. Soft feeling is good for backspin pushes. The
only negative of the blade may be that the balsa core is quite fragile,
but take care of it and it is a great blade. Andrew
Comments: I tried the BalsaCarbo X5 with DONIC J.O. Waldner 1.8mm glued
on both sides. The BalsaCarbo has more light weight and soft touch. If
you find carbon blade too hard too fast, this blade is a good solution.
Two Carbon Layers ensure enough power in both hard topspin with FH or on
the table and close to the table back hand attack. The blocking becomes
easy due to the Carbon layers. Due to the soft feeling, it is very nice
to give strong topspins from mid-distance with longer dwell time. In
real games this blade are flexible and powerful. Creanga plays this
BalsaCarbo X5 in 2005 World Championship!! very very good for every
level players. Kao
