I'm playing with Bryce for about 8 month and I think
that now I'm ready to write my opinion about it. I used to play with
softer rubbers (Tibhar Rapid Soft and Torpedo Soft) on some moment I
felt that I need something a little bit harder (and lighter then Torpedo
Soft). So I tried Bryce. First training session was awful, I couldn't
make any loop, everything went into the net, I was able to produce some
weak topspins with it. I was really angry with myself because of that
choice, how could I spent such money on rubber that cannot be used for
table tennis, how some players can play with it, why it is so slow and
not spinny enough, but decided to try it once again. As I found out
during second training session I simply didn't put enough glue on the
new rubber and that caused those feelings... Now I'm playing with Bryce,
this means that this rubber perfectly suits me. Yes, it doesn't forgive
my mistakes, yes, it tries to make me play aggressively and if you are
not ready there could be problems at least at first time, but when I do
everything correctly (legs, body, arm, attach angle, speed, etc...) it
produces exactly what I need and what I want, after about two months I
started trusting it and now I'm playing much faster then I used to.
Overall performance against defenders improved (they were real nightmare
before). Now I can even win with backspin defenders that used to win
when playing against me (really strange, but it is true, however this
happens also because now I'm training more). As a conclusion, very nice
rubber (maybe a little bit overpriced, as everything from Butterfly, but
I'm ready to pay that price for that quality), very high speed,
good/enough/reasonable spin, allows and makes me to play attacking table
tennis (until I get tired), but definitely it is not for beginner.
Sergiy Kravtsov Excellent, probably the
best rubber on fast powerful shots. When you burry ball deep into the
sponge Bryce has amazing speed, spin and control. But on medium and slow
shots when ball is not buried into sponge, it keeps speed but looses
spin and especially control. The best rubber for long distance power
looping. Not good for slow loops close to the table.
Very fast, difficult to control at first and difficult to
impart great spin because of short dwell time. not for someone with
average technique. for those with good technique; blocks tremendously,
great power looping from mid-range, serves both spinny amd fast, no
stall on any shot. Javier Very good for
hitting incredibly fast, penetrating and spinning loops. Excellent for
killing with smash. To my surprise it was very easy to control, even
when blocking, where it easily produces extreme angles. However, it's
quite hard to vary your loops very much with it, it wants to go fast
only. Rasmus |
