Played with mine tonight here is a mini review
Many compare it to bryce but imo the sponge is softer more like bryce fx
I would think
here is the comparison of saviga to bryce fx
-
saviga is a bit slower
-
saviga has less spin
-
saviga has more control (especially on slow shots)
-
saviga is MUCH better unglued
-
similar throw angle
-
saviga is as good or better in short game
-
saviga is easier to return serves
-
saviga is not as good for serves (less spin).
The test was done saviga red on Schlager carbon
Black on Korbel and both on the FH. I normally use glued
coppa tagora on SC and can loop underspin with no problem at all but with
unglued saviga tonight I had quite a few go in the net.On the Korbel unglued it
was very nice looping underspin but had a little ajustment to make as the tagora
is a softer rubber especially with glue.
I am sure the saviga will be a dream to play with on a fast blade and
glue but I think I am going to give it a shot on the Korbel without the glue,I
had no problems with it and it's got great control for a pretty fast rubber. For
$18 you can't go wrong with this rubber it's the best Chinese rubber I have seen
by a mile I just wish it had a bit more spin on serves.

Played with my saviga max glued tonight it was VERY VERY
nice, much better than unglued they say you don't need to glue it and I agree
it's better than normal rubbers unglued even has a glue sound to it,but when you
put a couple layers of fresh glue it comes alive.
I believe if someone handed me a blade with glued saviga vs glued
butterfly or donic rubbers I would not be able to say which one is Chinese and
which is jap/euro rubber it really is that good glued up.
