Table Tennis Tips

A real low and short no-spin serve can give you some easy points in matches, as they are difficult to flip hard, and they require good timing to push hard. Mix it up with a heavy backspin in the same spot. Remember to get it short, the ball should bounce short on your side close to the net...

 Yasaka Gatien Extra 3D

The Yasaka Gatien Extra 3D is designed for players who are looking for more power but still want control when blocking and returning serves. The secret behind 3D technology is the cut of 3 slots which give the blade more flexibility.

Available with a An, FL, or Straight grip.

 Yasaka Gatien Extra 3D Review
The gatien extra 3D is easy to control and due to its light weight and medium speed, it creates a good feel for the ball. The ideal blade for an offensive all rounder. I use Joola Tango Tensor 1.5mm to add speed to this fine quality blade. When buying a blade, be sure to have it weighed as they tend to vary plus or minus 5 grams and sometimes even more. I rate this blade between 8 and 8.5. Good luck to all! Eclo

It is soft and flexible, thus ideal for loopers. For hard hitting/smash, it is OK only. Power at near table up to mid distance is sufficient. At long distance, it seems too flexible to generate strong power. 3D technology (when hit right) gives the catapult effect. It can be lethal if you use fast rubbers. Summary: Excellent Control - Sufficient Speed/Power. Jan Vincent

This is a classic. I would recommend this blade to anyone, from absolute begginers to very experienced players. Excellent blade for offensive game, slightly slower and softer than stiga offensive classic, but much better feeling. Control on blocks and pushes is impressive. It would suit players with a long, fast strokes. When you loop, you can feel the blade flex, giving tremendous spin and speed to your topspin shots. Nice craftmanship too, as all yasaka blades, and excellent price. Only one problem: it is pretty head heavy. Robert, Sweden
